A roadmap needs a decision structure.

A timeline shows when work should happen. Governance determines how the organisation keeps it moving.

Transformation & delivery

Make accountability specific.

For each major outcome, identify who owns the result, who can approve changes, and where cross-functional decisions are resolved. Broad stakeholder involvement should not make accountability harder to locate.

Expose dependencies early.

A workstream may depend on a policy decision, a data agreement, a supplier, or another platform. Bring those dependencies into a shared view so teams can understand what is blocking progress and where intervention is needed.

Report to support action.

A useful programme review connects status with the decisions required. Focus discussion on exceptions, dependencies, options, and accountable next steps. The purpose is to improve the direction and pace of delivery.
